Hi i just joined. I saw your project some time ago, and found it by accident again, and decided to take a closer look Tongue

Im just saying, theres prolly a bunch of us here who can make models, and maybe even someone who can do programming.

You could for instance, make a thread with a ship description and we can make a model and post it so you can pick. Or textures.

I dont know anything about programming but Ive modeled a few ships some time ago. And made a few ship textures.

I mean theres like four of you working on this project (one programmer if i see correctly), Im impressed, really. lol

Yes I know modeling and texturing is the least of your problems when making a game but im just saying, if you need any help, im sure there are lots who are willing to assist.
If we do that, though, somethings would need to be figured out. The most important being: How much of the rights of what we create do we need to sign over to AureaSection?
The project being free, I dont really care. And the fact that every model I make is gonna be better than the last one, I wouldnt care if someone completely stole my design and said it was his/hers.
My name somewhere in the creds would be enough, tho not necessary if you ask me. Tongue Smile

Some of us have been watching this project for a while and would love to lend a hand. I am an model/texture artist, but I understand though that it is hard to bring in people who want to help. Two issues arise quality/consistency of work and the ability of someone who wants to help to get work done on a deadline. So if they would want us to help they would have to either give us an art test, or review our portfolio work.
Yeah, the consistency of work thing. Thats why i suggested that they should make it a competition, instead of hiring any one of us lol. If thats the problem. If they dont want to depend on us delivering something in time, then they make it a contest to make a texture or model or write a script, and tell us the deadline. A week or month, not longer than a month. I dont need more than a few hours at most for a model like the ones they have right now, do you?
Not sure about a contest for a script tho, since i dont think you can just write a piece of code for a game if you dont know anything about the way they code the game. Not an expert on that subject...
I might be willing to tack on another contributions project to my current activities, but I need a couple questions answered first:

A) Were I to model, would I have to texture what I modeled, or coould I model, and direct someone elses texturing efforts?

B) If I do have to texture, how amenable are you guys to tiling textures on capitol ships?

C) How amenable to concepts are you guys?

At the moment the focus is beyond concepts/models or new ships in general, we already are good with what we've got.. Morfeo's hard coding for the core of the game, mechanics/gameplay (that have been reviewed and re-reviewed a lot in this timespan).

Since he is 'the code' of the game himself Big Grin, I bet he would never let any other programmer to even take a look at it..
any idea when there will be a next update or something?

Good question.. when we'll have something really stable to be able to show it for good, there's not much new in terms of assets/ships.

Hah! Perfectly understandable. Thanks for answering.
