Hey I was just wondering if the game will be having a frictionless environment (i.e. even if you cut the engine you will keep travelling forward at the same speed)

Anyways found out recently about this project looking forward to it with anticipation. It's been a while since we needed a new space sim Smile.

Also, is there any info on game modes? I see there's capitol ships in the videos but I assume those are controlled by AI.

And lastly why is it mouse+keyboard control focused as opposed to joystick? This doesn't make sense to me.
There's a system that helps controlling the ship (when you cut the engine the ship counter-acts inertia to slow down) but when the main engines are destroyed or disabled, this system will go off and you may completely lose control and drive away. We're still considering to keep this assisted flight always on or give the option to disable it in order to do inertial maneuvers.

The capital ships won't be AI only, a player will be able to command them, and if an hangar is present (apart destroyers or corvettes, dropships and frigates have them) you'll also give orders to a certain number of ai-controlled fighters.

Have you ever played Descent? A mouse is more useful for accuracy then a joystick, but we'll support joysticks as well.
Good to hear there's still progress Smile Keep up the good work!

Descent is awesome.
